Steve Loane leaves behind a legacy of dedication and service to rural communities. As the General Manager of Forbes Shire Council, Steve was known for his unwavering commitment to Local Government, the livestock industry and the communities he lived in.
Steve's contribution to Local Government and the livestock industry were recognised when he was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2022.
Steve's passion, leadership and collegiate skills were instrumental in shaping Forbes Shire Council and the many organisations he was involved in. A former Stock and Station Agent, Steve Loane passionately supported the Australian Livestock and Property Association, Australian Livestock Markets Association and Saleyards Australia – colleagues, friends and family from across Australia will be deeply impacted by his loss.
Steve Loane leaves behind many communities that are stronger and more united because of his tireless efforts.
Steve is survived by his family; his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and in the lasting improvements he made to the communities he loved.
