Dakota's* Story

Dakota’s Story: Finding Strength After Bullying

Dakota* was just 12 years old when the bullying started. It began on her first day of high school. Friends from primary school turned their backs.

The taunts came next – cruel comments, threats, and even things thrown at her. She was targeted online too. Each day, Dakota woke up to messages from strangers urging her to give up.

She felt trapped, with no way out. Dakota just wanted the bullying to stop. She reached a point where she no longer wanted to go on.

But she did. And with support, she found a way forward.

Dakota is here today because of the support of Dolly's Dream.

She’s strong. She’s speaking out. And she’s using her voice to make sure no young person ever feels as alone and hopeless as she once did.

Dolly's Dream is giving young people and families the support, hope, and courage they need to keep going.

“I came so close to not being here. But I made it through. Now I share my story because I want others to know they’re not alone".
